8&U, 10&U and 12&U EEP & EXAM UNIFORM

“If you look like a dancer, you feel, focus and perform like a dancer”

At Generation Dance, wearing the uniform is encouraged to ensure safety, help teachers see proper body alignment, and support the correct execution of dance styles (like tap shoes for tap classes). Just like at school or in sports, the uniform also helps create a sense of belonging and unity within our dance community.

We pride ourselves on inclusivity and diversity and offer many uniform options to ensure every dancer is comfortable

COMMUNITY BOX

We have a community box at Generation Dance where parents have donated old uniform and shoes. If the cost of buying uniform is the reason you cannot enrol your son or daughter into classes please come and see the office staff. They will give you the community box to look through and see if there are any donated items your child can have for free. We just ask they get returned when you have finished with them.

Compulsory Classes

Primary Ballet and Test 2 Tap and/or Jazz through to Grade 4 Ballet and Silver Medal Tap and/or Jazz

  • Capezio wide strap leotard TC0053C in Jet Blue

  • Primary and Grade 1 Ballet students require Capezio pull on skirt 11152C in Jet Blue

  • Students can wear GD bike shorts for Tap and Jazz exam classes

  • Boys to wear GD “Dance Because You Love It T-shirt” and GD bike pants. Boys will need to purchase a leotard and tights (boys style) for the ballet exam

Grade 5 Ballet and Silver Star Tap and/or Jazz through to Grade 6 Ballet and Gold Medal Tap and/or Jazz

  • Capezio wide strap leotard TC0053C in Black

Dancers to wear a black cross over top or GD contour jacket in the colder months

STOCKING RULE - If wearing a leotard stockings must be worn. If wearing crop top and shorts or unitard either stockings or dance socks can be worn.

Jazz & Flexibility

Ballet

HAIR

Hair must be pulled back into a neat ballet bun at every lesson. Hip Hop is the only exception where a ponytail is required. For acrobatics please have a low height ponytail, braid or high bun.
