MINI STARS
Jazz, Hip Hop, Singing & Flexibility for 5 to 7 years olds
MINI STARS is a one hour combo class of JAZZ, HIP HOP, SINGING and FLEXIBILITY and a whole lot of fun, whilst learning exceptional dance technique and so many other skills.
JAZZ – High energy, fast paced dance style teaching kicks, turns, leaps, isolations, musicality and strength.
HIP HOP – Learn some of the coolest hip hop moves with current (censored and appropriate!) music.
SINGING – Discover songs from Music Theatre productions, practice reading and learning the lyrics and then work on projection, diction and tune.
FLEXIBILITY – The students will learn gentle stretching techniques and will work towards achieving splits, leg mounts, cobras, butterflies and frogs, which will assist their jazz technique.
This class has been designed by Director, Jodie Freeman, who has over 20 years of teaching experience. Her teaching ideas and methods are highly sought after in the dance industry, due to the amazing results she achieves with younger dancers.
ENROL FOR A TRIAL
Generation Dance offer one PAID trial class to new students, meaning no large term fee payment payable before you are sure your child is going to love their class/es.
Our payments are fully automated so when you enrol for a trial you must submit a direct debit form. We will deduct the cost of the trial class once we confirm your child’s registration. Ezi debit will also deduct the $5.50 direct debit once off account set up fee. If your child does not want to continue after their trial class, there is nothing more to pay and your direct debit is cancelled. If you choose to continue, our office staff will roll you over to a permanent enrolment and will set you up on the monthly debit cycle. AGE
The Mini Stars program is for 2024 Reception and Year 1 school age students, aged between 5 and 7 years. Mid Year reception intake students can commence this program in Term 3.

MINI STARS 6&U COMPETITION TROUPE (30 minutes)
Competition Troupe give dancers more performance opportunities throughout the year. They attend a separate class where they learn and polish choreography ready to compete at competitions. The dancers work together in a team environment and have so much fun performing on stage throughout the year.
Students must attend both Mini Stars Jazz, Hip Hop, Singing & Flexibility and Mini Stars Ballet to be eligible for Competition Troupe.
Students must be available for all Troupe dates and commitments as per the 6&U EEP Competition Troupe Schedule. This is a pathway to the EEP stream so we recommend reading the EEP information.
EXAMS
Students in Year 1 can choose to attend an exam class, as an addition to their Mini Stars lesson. This is a pathway to the EEP stream.
Primary Ballet exam (30 minutes) *students must also enrol in Mini Stars Ballet
Test 2 Jazz exam (30 minutes) *students must also enrol in Mini Stars Jazz, Hip Hop, Singing & Flexibility
Test 2 Tap exam (30 minutes) *students must also enrol in Mini Stars Tap

PERFORMANCES
Mini Stars students will have 2 chances to perform throughout the year with a Mid Year Display in June and End of Year Showcase in December. Performances for Mini Stars students are optional, however performance work in taught in class time.
